Frequently Asked Questions
HOW THICK CAN YOUR MACHINE CUT?
Most of our router bits are designed to cut materials under 32mm, but in some cases, we can go thicker (the thickest material we’ve cut was 50mm solid Jarrah). Standard thicknesses for sheet materials are 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 25mm.
WHAT’S THE CUTTING AREA OF YOUR MACHINE?
Our machine is designed to cut standard sheets which are 2440mm x 1220mm.
WHAT FILE TYPE SHOULD I SEND YOU?
We prefer 2D vector files in the following formats: dwg, dxf, 3dm, ai, stl, eps and pdf. However, a detailed sketch is often enough for us to do our job so if you can’t use CAD, don’t worry.
For tips on how to draw your project in CAD check out our CAD Guide.
You can get a quote with a hand drawn sketch. Click here to see how. (COMING SOON)
DO I NEED TO SUPPLY MY OWN MATERIAL?
If you have material then you can drop it off at our workshop. If you need guidance on material choice, we can point you towards one of our preferred suppliers for help and they can deliver material to our workshop. If you’d rather we just take care of it, we can source your material for you, but we will charge an administration fee.
WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU CUT?
We mostly cut timber and timber composites such as plywood, MDF and solid hardwood. The machine also loves to cut plastics like acrylic and polycarbonate.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO GET SOMETHING CUT?
We pride ourselves on our competitive pricing. Our minimum job cost is $150. Submit your job to get a fixed quote for your job.
