Custom – Table as Art

Drew Abrahamson’s ‘Lignum Sanctum’, aka the Orgy Table, is a stunning piece of craftsmanship veneered with Alpi Wood from Elton Group

@drew__a handed us a pen-and-paper illustration which we digitised – being careful to stay true to the artist’s style – mimicking the varying pen weight with our vectors and doing our best to maintain the ‘trace of the hand’.

From there we machined 166 parts making up 29 stacks of figures and body parts which Drew skillfully pieced together and painstakingly veneered.

Lignum Sanctum is currently on display at Craft Victoria as a part of Fables & Folklore – an excellent exhibition of local art and design curated by @simonehaag
